Spy×Family 05

SPOILER Summary/Synopsis

Anya fails to get into Eden Academy (College). However, Housemaster Henderson shows them that Anya is on the top of the list of alternates, should someone decide to withdraw. Thirty-three Three days later, Anya is accepted. As such, Franky comes by to throw a party. Anya wants to celebrate by reenacting an episode of her favorite spy show, where she plays the princess and Twilight plays the spy to rescue her.

Twilight refuse, but Franky teams up with Anya to manipulate Twilight into agreeing. As such, it is decided to rent the castle from Anya’s favorite spy show. Twilight flies the four there. Anya is happy, but feels there needs to be servants and enemies. As such, Twilight enlists the help of his agency to fill those roles.

Twilight is forced to wear the eye mask from the show. Franky takes the role of main villain. And the game is on. Anya plays the princess, asking “Loidman” (Loid being Twilight’s cover name) to save her. Twilight follows through, defeating all enemies. However, a drunk Yor is the final boss. She thinks someone is really coming after Anya. As such, she goes all out fighting Twilight until she passes out.

Anya is so happy and impressed, she hugs her Papa. The two head out to watch the fireworks. Anya tells Twilight that since he pulled her out of the orphanage, her life has been very exciting. As such, she promises to do well in school.

Thoughts/Review

Ahhh…more Anya and company awesomeness in Spy×Family 05.

An Exciting Party

In order for Twilight’s mission to continue, Anya had to get into Eden Academy. However, I was a bit surprised when Spy×Family 05 decided to do the, “She didn’t get in”, only to have her accepted as an alternate a month later. I suppose it was done for comedic purposes. And it does fit thematically. But it did surprise me.

That aside, once Anya was in, she got her biggest wish granted. She got to see Twilight play as a spy from her show. Of course, she had to manipulate the heck out of him, assisted by Franky. I’m going to guess that from here on, Franky is going to be a favorite of Anya’s.

Anyway, I couldn’t help but think that in addition to being entertaining for Anya, this whole pretend mission was actually a good training session for Twilight. We already know that he’s the best, but even the best have to keep their skills up.

It was funny seeing Yor drunk and thus taking things serious. Because she goes into this berserker-like state, and because Twilight was obviously holding back, it was fine for me to accept that she was kicking Twilight’s butt. Plus, Yor has really become attached to Anya. I hope Anya gets a little closer to Yor, though at the moment, she’s a “Daddy’s girl”.

Final Thoughts and Conclusion

In the end, Spy×Family 05 gave us more Anya fun and goodness. And while she’s certainly a manipulative girl, I did enjoy seeing her have her spy adventure wish come true.
